Every now and then, a card deck finds its way into your life that feels like it’s meant just for you. That’s exactly how I felt when I got my hands on the Nature’s Way Oracle Cards – The Wisdom of New Zealand Trees. This beautiful set of 32 cards was channeled by a group of experienced Kiwi mediums called the Phoenix Group New Zealand. They were encouraged by spirit to bring forward the energy and wisdom of our native trees – and wow!
I've had my deck for a couple years now and find it gently powerful. . Each card carries a message from a native New Zealand tree, and somehow, the right one always seems to appear just when I need it. Honestly, I still haven’t even used them with a specific question yet – they just seem to know what’s going on and pop up with guidance that feels spot on every single time.
Here’s what the explainer card says:
The Wisdom of the Trees There is much we can learn from trees: to have strong roots and stay grounded; to allow ourselves to grow upwards and outwards, connecting and collaborating with those around us; and to emanate an energy that helps ourselves and others to thrive.
To Use the Cards: Keep the cards in a special place. When you are ready to use them, infuse them with your energy; be clear about what you are asking; then pull as many cards as you feel appropriate. Sit with them for a while, allowing your intuition to guide you to the answer and understanding you seek.
I especially turn to this deck during the winter months when we have less daylight and time outside – it's a little moment to stop, breathe, and connect with nature, even if it's horrible outside. It's perfect for both beginners or seasoned oracle lovers who appreciate the subtle magic of nature and the land we live on.
And because I’m all about pairing tools that help us tune in and feel grounded, I’ve found the perfect essential oil match for this deck:
Shinrin-Yoku - doTerra's Forest Bathing Blend - this blend was specially formulated so you can bring the power of nature into your home. It not only features the aromas of the great outdoors, but essential oils with the same chemical constituents you enhale when you walk amongst the trees. The blend includes: Lemon, Magnolia, Patchouli, Cardamom, Siberian Fir, Hinoki, Cypress, Lavandin, Pink Grapefruit, Geranium & Petitgrain essential oils.
Here’s a little scent ritual you might like to try with your Oracle Cards and Shinrin-Yoku or one of your favourite essential oils.
Tree Wisdom Scent Ritual with Shinrin-Yoku
You’ll Need: Your Nature’s Way Oracle Cards
Shinrin-Yoku
A quiet, calm space
(Optional: A journal and pen)
Step 1 – Find Your Roots
Sit with your feet flat on the ground. Take some slow, deep breaths. Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth, anchoring you.
Step 2 – Connect with Shinrin-Yoku
Place 1–2 drops of Shinrin-Yoku in your palms. Rub your hands together and inhale deeply. Let the scent wrap around you like a forest hug. You can also apply it to the soles of your feet or back of your neck. (Dilute with a carrier oil like Fractionated Coconut Oil)
Step 3 – Call in the Trees
Hold your deck to your heart and say:
"Dear wisdom of the trees, what do I need to know today?"
Shuffle slowly and pull a card (or a few). Trust what comes.
Step 4 – Receive the Message
Read the card and just sit with it. Let the message land. Write it down if something stirs something in you.
Step 5 – Give Thanks
Place your hand on your heart. Say thank you – to the trees, to yourself, to the land. You are connected and supported.
This deck is such a gentle reminder that guidance doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s a whisper from the trees.
If you’re curious about the deck, or want to bring more nature into your spiritual practice, I highly recommend giving Nature’s Way Oracle Cards a go.

Disclaimer:
Oracle Cards are a tool for self-reflection, insight, and intuitive guidance. They are not a substitute for professional advice, including medical, psychological, financial, or legal support. Essential oils are a complementary wellness tool and should be used with care. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It’s also important to say this — simply using Oracle Cards or essential oils on their own isn’t going to magically change your life.
They are tools. Supportive ones. Powerful ones when used well. But real change comes from the work you’re willing to do. That means looking at your habits, your patterns, your thoughts, your environment…how you’re moving your body, what you’re feeding it, and what you’re feeding your mind. This is about inner work and outer work. The cards can bring awareness. The oils can help shift your state. But you are the one who creates the change.
Over time, you might feel drawn to explore other tools and practices as well — things like journalling, meditation, emotional work, or creating simple daily rituals that support you. Take what feels right for you, and build from there. You are always responsible for your own decisions, actions, and wellbeing.
