Kew Gardens: Marianne North Set of 3 Midi Notebooks

If you’re anything like me, you can never have enough notebooks. I use little ones like these for all my collections of research: scent journals, new moon intentions, tarot journals, oracle card journals, herb research, you name it.

This set from Flame Tree comes with three midi-sized foiled notebooks, each with its own beautiful design. They have a sturdy cover and rounded corners, so they’re happy being carried everywhere. They tuck easily into a handbag or laptop case.

The art comes from Marianne North, the remarkable Victorian artist who set out in 1871 on a painterly journey through the world’s flora. She had a wonderful eye for botanical detail, and Kew Gardens (the world-famous centre for botanical and mycological knowledge) now has a whole gallery dedicated to her paintings.

Why I love them: The pages alternate between lined and blank, so one side is ruled for your notes and the opposite side is free for sketching, painting, or sticking things in. I love using the blank page for the tarot card I’m working with, or the oracle card for the week. Every time you pick one up, the art on the cover gives you a little hit of joy.
