Thyme essential oil was an oil in my cabinet that I had not used much. I had come across an eco cleaning spray that used Orange and Thyme and loved the smell of it and wanted to create my own but have not been successful in recreating the smell, I'm guessing they must have used synthetic oils or maybe a blend to make the smell.
After that failure my poor bottle of Thyme oil has been sitting neglected until I pulled the Thyme card from my essential oil oracle deck and thought hmmm maybe now I will dive into Thyme!
What does Thyme Essential Oil Blend Well With?
Thyme essential oil blends well with Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lavender, Rosemary, Oregano and Melaeuca )Tea Tree oils. So first off I thought I'd try some diffuser blends - below are my favourite ones using Thyme:

Thyme Tea
First off to make this tea grab a toothpick dip it into the top of your bottle of doTerra Thyme essential oil for a few seconds for the toothpick to absorb a bit of the oil, then swirl it around your teacup you have prepared with the hot water in it. This is all you need to make yourself a lovely cup of thyme tea. Thyme is a hot oil so is very concentrated and strong, so a little on the end of your toothpick is plenty to enjoy the benefits and if you do want more flavour dip your toothpick in your essential oil bottle again. Only use certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils suitable for flavoring. Read my blog post here about using essential oils in cooking and taking internally.
Have a cup of thyme tea to strengthen self-expression (throat chakra). I have started making myself a cup of thyme tea in a beautiful tea cup when I'm about to start writing a new blog post. It's not expressing myself outwardly but I'm finding it's helping me express myself more authentically in my writing. Thyme is also known to activate courage and energy so again helps me to stay focused and say what I want to say.
Brilliant! πΏ
I love to work with one essential oil in each moon cycle. Diving into getting to know that oil especially if I haven't used it much. Or revisiting oils I love, to learn more about them and how they work on my system as I myself am growing or "becoming". I like to choose a new oil each new Moon then use it blends, have it open on my bedside table as I sleep, use it in recipes - cooking if it's ok to use internally or in diy products for my house, and body. And of course read up on that oil in every single aromatherapy and essential oil book I have or sometimes I even spend a day at the library looking through different essential oil books to see what else I come across and enjoying the library at the same time!
