This morning my legs were feeling tired and a bit tender or restless, I couldn't decide but I knew it meant my body was asking for grounding, to come back into itself, slow down, and reconnect. I reached for my Patchouli Essential Oil, an oil I go to for stability, earthiness and presence.
Patchouli Essential Oil invites us to return fully to the present moment by grounding into the body. It softens compulsive thinking and overworking, helping us find stillness and breath. I placed a drop of Patchouli Essential Oil directly onto each of my legs and smoothed it gently in with a plain moisteriser, taking a deep intentional breath as I did, and thanking my legs for all they do for me. The space from when I tipped my Patchouli Essential Oil bottle to when the drop came out was magical - a quiet suspended place, that "in-between" where grounding happens, and it reminded me of the Oracle Card "Between" from my Gratitude Oracle Deck.
I imagined my legs as tree trunks, strong and rooted, supporting me, holding space between heaven and earth.
Patchouli reminded me that embodiment isn't just a physical act, it's a spiritual one. It's a bridge between doing and being, thinking and feeling, heaven and earth.
