How Oracle Cards Can Support Your Intuition, Clarity & Inner Peace

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to anything a little bit magical. I still remember making my own runes when I was about 14 after reading an article in Girlfriend magazine… which definitely gives away my age šŸ˜…

Crystals, incense, essential oils, herbs, flowers… and of course Oracle Cards, I’ve always loved them. The colours, the artwork, the feeling of holding something that just means something. But for a long time, it was more of a ā€œdabble.ā€ I’d buy a deck here and there, pull a card occasionally, leave it on my bedside table… and that was about it. Until things shifted.

When It Became More Than Just ā€œA Cardā€

A couple of years ago, I was invited into a group learning about Spiritualism and something clicked. I didn’t just like Oracle Cards anymore… I started working with them. Consistently. Intentionally. And now? It’s a full-blown practice (and yes… a bit of an obsession with decks šŸ˜„). It also felt like a natural next step to stock Oracle Cards in my online store. Because let’s be honest — I’m not going to recommend something I haven’t actually used myself.

If You Feel Like Something’s Missing…

If You Feel Like Something’s Missing… This is who I really created this for. You might already have a good life. You’ve worked hard. You’ve built something. You’re doing all the ā€œrightā€ things. But there’s this quiet feeling… Like something’s still missing. More clarity. More calm. More connection to yourself. Oracle Cards aren’t about predicting your future or telling you what to do. They’re a tool to help you come back to yourself.

What Are Oracle Cards (Really)?

Oracle Cards are a simple but powerful tool for self-reflection. Each card holds a message through imagery, words, and symbolism that helps you look at your life, your thoughts, and your emotions from a different angle. Think of them as a mirror. They don’t give you answers you don’t already have… they help you see what’s already there. There are thousands of decks out there from angels to nature, energy, emotions, business, life purpose… there’s honestly a deck for everything. And usually, one will just stand out to you. That’s the one.

It’s Not About Doing It ā€œRightā€

This is where people overthink it. There’s no perfect way to use Oracle Cards. You don’t need a complicated ritual or hours of free time.

Some days it might look like:

  • Pulling one card in the morning with your coffee

  • Sitting with it for 2 minutes before your day starts

Other days it might be:

  • Journalling

  • Diffuser on

  • A proper spread

  • Actually taking time for yourself (imagine that)

The key is this:
Make it fit your life and not the other way around.

What My Practice Looks Like (In Real Life)

What My Practice Looks Like (In Real Life). Mine changes all the time, depending on what’s going on.

At the moment, I’ll usually:

  • Write down my dreams in the morning - if I remember them

  • Pull a card for insight, sometimes it helps me debunk my dream while it's still fresh in my mind

  • Sit with it, sometimes journal

  • Pair it with an essential oil or affirmation - alot of decks come with affirmations and I love taking those through my day and whatever essential oil I have chosen for the day or the one I'm working with that month.

  • At the moment I'm loving working with one deck for a whole month getting to know it, this is a great practice if you end up getting a few decks yourself, then you go back in a few months time and notice a whole new way of looking at the deck or it kind of speaks to you differently.

Then in the evening, I might pull another card just to reflect on the day. Some months, I’ll do a bigger spread in tune with the moon, especially those times when I’m feeling stuck or need clarity.

Other times? It’s quick, simple, and done in a minute. I just want the energy of a card for the day. There’s no pressure to make it perfect.

Why It Actually Works

This is the part that matters. Oracle Cards slow you down. They get you out of your head and into awareness. Instead of pushing through your day on autopilot, you pause… and ask:

  • What’s actually going on for me right now?

  • What am I avoiding?

  • What do I already know deep down?

That’s where the clarity comes from. And sometimes… the card you don’t want to pull? That’s usually the one you need. You can ignore it and pull another card, but I bet it will come back up for you again šŸ˜‰

Adding Essential Oils Into the Mix

This is where things get really powerful. I often use essential oils before I pull a card, just to shift my state. Because if you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or rushing… you’re not going to hear your intuition clearly. All you need to do is take a few deep breaths, put an oil or a blend you enjoy in your diffuser or pop a couple of drops in your hand, rub together an enhale, all this create a calmness which can completely change the experience. Use the oils you’re drawn to, or the oil you are working with, the oil you love that you know relaxes you, there’s no strict rule here. Your body already knows what it needs.

Choosing the Right Deck

Keep this simple. You don’t need to analyse it to death.

When you’re looking at decks, ask yourself:

  • Do I like the artwork?

  • Does it feel good to look at?

  • Am I drawn to it?

If you’re unsure or overthinking it… it’s probably not the one. The right deck usually feels like: ā€œOh. Yep. That’s mine.ā€

A Different Way to Look at It

This isn’t about becoming ā€œspiritual enough.ā€ It’s about becoming more aware of yourself. Because when you start paying attention, really paying attention you start to notice:

  • Patterns

  • Emotional triggers

  • Old stories you’ve been running

And that’s where real change starts because you are actually noticing and then you start understanding.

Bringing It Into Your Life

If you’re new, start small. Read the guidebook in the Oracle Card Deck you have chosen, it will give you suggestions on how to use it, take time to look at all the cards, enjoy the deck then when you are ready just go for it.

Pull one card a day and ask:
ā€œWhat do I need to see today?ā€

That’s it. You don’t need to figure everything out straight away. Sometimes the meaning will land instantly. Other times… it’ll hit you two days later out of nowhere. Stay open. That’s the whole point.

Oracle Cards aren’t here to fix your life. They’re here to help you see it clearly. And when you can see clearly… you make better choices, feel more grounded, and trust yourself more. That’s where the real shift happens.

Disclaimer

Oracle Cards are a tool for self-reflection, insight, and intuitive guidance. They are not a substitute for professional advice, including medical, psychological, financial, or legal support. Essential oils are a complementary wellness tool and should be used with care. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It’s also important to say this — simply using Oracle Cards or essential oils on their own isn’t going to magically change your life.

They are tools. Supportive ones. Powerful ones when used well. But real change comes from the work you’re willing to do. That means looking at your habits, your patterns, your thoughts, your environment…how you’re moving your body, what you’re feeding it, and what you’re feeding your mind. This is about inner work and outer work. The cards can bring awareness. The oils can help shift your state. But you are the one who creates the change.

Over time, you might feel drawn to explore other tools and practices as well — things like journalling, meditation, emotional work, or creating simple daily rituals that support you. Take what feels right for you, and build from there. You are always responsible for your own decisions, actions, and wellbeing.
